FUTA Non-Teaching Staff Protest Alleged Unpaid Allowances, Issue Seven-Day Ultimatum

Non-teaching staff at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) protested over alleged unpaid allowances, accusing the management of paying other unions while excluding members of the National Association of Non-Teaching Staff of Nigerian Universities (NANTS). The workers marched to the Vice Chancellor’s office, demanding payment of the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Allowance and other approved benefits. They gave the management seven days to resolve the matter or face legal action. Vice Chancellor Prof. Taiwo Amos appealed for calm, saying the management was engaging the union and that no eligible worker would be denied their entitlement.
