The lawmaker for Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Yusuf Gagdi, failed to secure the APC ticket for a third term. Dr John Tongshinen won the direct primary with 29,968 votes. Gagdi trailed with 5,849 votes, according to the returning officer’s declaration at Pankshin. INEC officials and security personnel monitored the exercise across the three local government areas. Gagdi’s bid for a third term drew criticism after opponents said he had pledged to step aside after two terms to allow power rotation.
