ICPC Hands Over Forfeited ‘Goodluck Jonathan Estate’ Land to FMBN for 962 Homes

The ICPC has officially transferred a large parcel of seized land in Abuja’s Kaba District back to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. This action follows a Federal High Court order declaring the property forfeited after funds meant for a 962-unit housing project were allegedly diverted abroad. ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu led the handover to FMBN’s Managing Director, Shehu Usman Osidi. A joint ICPC–FMBN committee will now oversee completion of the project and ensure homes are allocated fairly to Nigerians. In 2012, the estate was financed by a $65 million loan that investigations revealed was misappropriated. Civil proceedings have concluded, while the criminal case continues. The move underscores ICPC’s commitment to recovering and repurposing public assets.
