Tragedy at Kings’ School: Teacher Collapses and Dies During Exams
A long-serving female teacher at Kings’ School in Winchester suffered a medical emergency just as Year 11 students were about to sit their GCSE exams. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the school on Romsey Road. Pupils arriving for classes and exams were kept under supervised care. The school dismissed students early but allowed the Year 11 exams to continue as scheduled. In a message to parents, the school assured them of a controlled dismissal process and promised timely updates. Devastated students and community members left floral tributes and messages outside the school gates, describing her as compassionate and inspiring. Hampshire Police confirmed the woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and that her next of kin have been informed.
