The Nigeria Basketball Federation has announced the 12-man D’Tigers roster for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers in Luanda, Angola, running from July 2 to 5, 2026. New head coach David Fizdale will lead a mix of seasoned internationals and emerging talent. The squad features Uchenna and Ikenna Ireogbu, Caleb Agada, Martins Igbanu, Paul Dibal, Stanley Okoye, Daniel Utomi, Chimezie Metu, Wesley Iwundu, Christian Mekowulu, Akobundu-Ehiogu Kaodirichi, and Michael Eric. D’Tigers will compete in Group C against Guinea, Rwanda, and Tunisia. Each matchup will be crucial as Nigeria aims to secure its place at the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup. NBBF President Ahmadu Musa Kida expressed confidence in the team’s passion and professionalism under Coach Fizdale’s leadership.
