Oyo Governor Orders Special Operation to Rescue Kidnapped Pupils and Teachers

Governor Seyi Makinde has said a special security operation will secure the release of the pupils and teachers abducted in Yawota and Esiele communities last month. He made this remark on Tuesday while addressing protesters at the Government House in Ibadan. The demonstration was led by social media personality Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan) and concerned residents demanding swift government action. Makinde assured families that security agencies are executing a carefully planned rescue mission. He expressed confidence that the victims will be brought home safely.

I'm not convinced a special operation will prevent future kidnappings without addressing the root causes in those communities.

Deploy mobile safety committees with community leaders, regular patrols, and timely information sharing with security forces to prevent abductions.
