Ohio Maternity Unit Sees Record 17 Nurses Pregnant at Once
At least 17 nurses in the labour and delivery unit of an Ohio hospital are expecting babies this year, breaking their previous record of 11. Fifteen of the expectant nurses recently posed together in matching uniforms. Some will welcome their first child, while others prepare for their second or third. Best friends Maddie and Rileigh, both five-year veterans of the unit, plan for Maddie to deliver Rileigh’s baby. Unit manager Amberly Saner told ABC News that staffing won’t be affected thanks to nearly 200 full- and part-time nurses who can pick up extra shifts. The group has bonded over motherhood tips and looks forward to their children growing up together. “We’re excited to share this journey,” one of the nurses said.
