Police Bust Car and Motorcycle Theft Ring in Kano, Arrest Five Suspects

The Kano State Police Command has arrested five suspects in separate operations over the theft of two cars and a motorcycle. Officers recovered an ash-coloured Toyota Corolla, a Pontiac Vibe and a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle. Four men were nabbed on March 31 after intelligence-led raids by the Special Investigation Squad. They could not account for the stolen Toyota Corolla believed taken from Ibadan. A reported Pontiac Vibe was also recovered abandoned on Jibiya Road while the suspects fled towards Niger Republic. A fifth suspect was arrested after crashing the stolen Bajaj Boxer in Badawa Quarters. The motorcycle was seized and returned to its owner. Investigations continue ahead of planned court charges. The Commissioner of Police praised the professionalism of the operatives and the public for timely tips. He urged vehicle owners to install security devices, avoid isolated parking spots and report suspicious movements through official police channels.

Sure, arrests are a start, but just rounding up suspects doesn't guarantee stolen vehicles will be fully recovered across the state.
