Jos Girls Empowered to Produce Eco-Friendly Reusable Menstrual Pads
IYALI Hope Community Centre and A Child’s Hope Foundation recently trained 50 adolescent girls from two Jos shelters on menstrual health and pad production. The sessions at Jos Christian Refuge for Children Foundation and Simiji Girl-Child Foundation covered reusable pad making, proper use and maintenance. Each participant received a pack of pads, a storage bag and a tailored training manual. Lead Facilitator Oluwaseyi Anreti Adeolowu highlighted the need to adopt eco-friendly menstrual products to cut waste and prevent environmental pollution. Mary Choji of the children’s refuge praised the programme for equipping the girls with vital life skills. This initiative forms part of wider efforts to empower vulnerable girls while promoting sustainable hygiene practices.
