Ex-Mistress Says Sani Abacha Died During Intimate Moment, Not by Poison
A retired security officer has revealed new details about Gen. Sani Abacha’s sudden death in 1998. According to his account, the Igbo pharmacist who was with Abacha at Aso Villa insisted she didn’t kill him. She told authorities he suffered cardiac arrest during intercourse. The former Assistant Director of Operations and Intelligence at Lagos State SSS says he personally interrogated the woman after she flew to Lagos. He reports she immediately told him, “I did not kill him; he died on top of me.” Her testimony appears in his newly released book, "DSS @40: My Journey Behind the Shield."
