Williams Sisters Return to Wimbledon with Doubles Wildcard
Serena and Venus Williams have accepted wildcards into the women’s doubles draw at Wimbledon beginning 29 June. Serena, 44, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion with seven Wimbledon titles, returns to competitive tennis after last playing at the 2022 US Open. She has been preparing with doubles matches in Berlin alongside Karolina Muchova. Venus, 45, a five-time Wimbledon singles champion, endured a tough singles season but found form in doubles earlier this year. In April she teamed with Katie Boulter to win the Madrid Open. Now the sisters will join forces again on the grass courts of the All England Club. Although neither received a singles wildcard, one spot remains open. Other doubles wildcards include former British number one Dan Evans and three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka. Fans are eagerly awaiting another chapter in the legendary careers of the Williams sisters.
