1,500 Bayelsa Youth Empowered Through Digital and Vocational Training

No fewer than 1,500 young people in Bayelsa State have completed a two-month skills programme organized by Africa’s Hub for Skills & Enterprise Development in partnership with Tantita Security Services and Maton Engineering. The graduation at Ijaw House, Yenagoa, marked World Youth Skills Day. Participants gained digital, technical and entrepreneurial skills to boost employability and drive small business growth. Training covered artificial intelligence, solar installation, digital marketing, graphic design, website development, photography, videography, event planning, tailoring, catering, shoe and bag making, makeup, nail technology, candle making and household cleaning agent production. Some graduates have already secured jobs or launched ventures before completing the course. Certificates were presented alongside starter packs such as laptops, sewing machines, ovens and solar toolkits. Representatives from SMEDAN and the Bayelsa State Enterprise Development Centre encouraged graduates to tap into enterprise support programmes for further growth.
