Ohanaeze, Abuja ICA Rally 1.2M Igbos to Secure PVCs for 2027 Election
Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Abuja chapter of the Igbo Community Association have launched a campaign to help over 1.2 million Igbo residents in the Federal Capital Territory obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). The Continuous Voter Registration exercise runs from May 11 to July 10. The groups warn against voter apathy, calling the PVC the “new Ogbunigwe” — the ultimate tool for civic engagement and community representation. Local assistance centres and a dedicated helpline will guide residents through online pre-registration, biometric capture, and corrections. The associations also urge Igbo political leaders in Abuja to join the drive and strengthen the bloc ahead of the 2027 general election.
