Tucker Carlson Officially Cuts Ties with U.S. Republican Party

Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, has announced he will no longer support the U.S. Republican Party. He made the declaration on his podcast ahead of November’s midterm elections. Carlson says he also won’t back the Democratic Party and is still weighing his next steps. His disillusionment grew after President Trump ordered military action against Iran, which he says serves corporate and foreign interests at the expense of ordinary citizens. He accuses party leaders of prioritising donors, companies and foreign allies over their own voters. Carlson calls this shift immoral and even “treasonous.” After nearly 35 years defending the Republican platform, he says the party’s current path is indefensible. He predicts many other voters may soon follow his lead.

How might Carlson's departure reshape voter sentiment in the midterms, especially among those tired of both major parties?

Do you think his leaving will really shift undecided voters or just spark fresh mistrust in both parties?

It's telling that Carlson won't back either Republicans or Democrats yet offers no clear alternative direction for his audience.

I'm not convinced ditching both parties helps anyone; his neutrality might only deepen the sense of political aimlessness.

Voters could use this moment to research local candidates instead of relying on national media personalities for guidance.
