Wike Directs 10km Extension of Outer Southern Expressway to Wasa Junction
The FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has ordered an immediate 10km extension of the Outer Southern Expressway from Ring Road II (Apo) to Wasa Junction. He gave the directive during an inspection of projects scheduled for inauguration on the President’s third anniversary. Wike praised the rapid progress on the OSEX bridge and urged the FCDA Executive Secretary to ensure full completion by the contractor. He also inspected the nearly completed Collector Road CN2 in Katampe and the relocated Wasa informal sector site for Apo mechanic traders. The Minister dismissed recent criticisms over land allocations, reminding critics that land is routinely given for economic and diplomatic activities. He clarified that fees paid after allocation cover documentation and Certificate of Occupancy. He also explained the intervention at Jabi Lake, saying unused land would now be developed under new agreements.
