To celebrate Women’s History Month, Zikoko HER launched its first Women of the Year Awards in March. The goal was to honor the Nigerian women who shaped our culture, economy, and spirit over the past year. After public voting and lively debate, 10 winners emerged from 50 nominees across 10 categories. They were recognized at HERtitude 2026, a special event dedicated to women’s achievements. Here are the winners: • The Gamechanger Award – Oluwatosin Olaseinde, founder of Money Africa and Ladda • The Breakout Award – Uzoamaka Power, writer, director, and lead actor • The Main Character Award – Funke Akindele, Box Office Queen of Behind The Scenes • The Blueprint Award – Adeife Adeoye, CEO of a global remote work ecosystem • The Essence Award – Priscilla Ojo, beauty entrepreneur behind PriscyLuxe • The Headliner Award – Ayra Starr, chart-topping artist • The Force Award – Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, advocate for infrastructure and digital learning • The Storyteller Award – FK & Jola, creators of The Bounce Live podcast • The MVP Award – Tobi Amusan, world-record holder on the track • The Muse Award – Veekee James, high-fashion designer
