Scripture’s Warning Against Adding to God’s Word

Scripture teaches that every word of God is pure and trustworthy. Proverbs 30:5–6 warns believers not to add to God’s words, lest they be rebuked and found false. Revelation 22:18–21 also gives a solemn warning against adding to or taking away from the prophecy in the book. The passage closes with a prayerful expectation of Christ’s return: “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
