Floods Destroy Snake Farm in China, Release Over 800 Serpents into Streets

A snake farm in Dengwei village, Hengzhou has been flooded and badly damaged, allowing more than 800 snakes to escape into nearby streets. The reptiles released include venomous cobras, and several residents have reportedly suffered bites. Local authorities say rescue teams have been dispatched to recapture the escaped snakes. The incident follows continuous heavy rainfall in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which has been hit by Typhoon Maysak. Officials warn that several reservoirs around Nanning and Hengzhou are at critical levels. They urge locals to stay vigilant and report any sightings of dangerous wildlife to emergency services.
