Lamba APC Leaders Demand Rotation of Wase Federal Constituency Seat After Two Decades of Monopoly

Lamba APC Leaders Demand Rotation of Wase Federal Constituency Seat After Two Decades of Monopoly

A coalition of Lamba District APC stakeholders has urged an immediate power shift in Wase Federal Constituency. They warn that one district monopolizing the House of Representatives seat for nearly 20 years undermines democratic representation. At a recent congress chaired by Comrade Aminu Gyambar and led by Barrister Yunus Abubakar Gongki, the Concerned Lamba District Elite adopted a resolution for rotational leadership. They argue that zoning across Wase, Lamba, Kadarko and Bashar wards will restore fairness, broaden participation and strengthen public trust. The group appealed directly to national and state APC authorities, including the party chairman and the Plateau State leadership, to implement a transparent rotation framework. They cautioned that failure to act could create deeper divisions and weaken party unity ahead of upcoming elections. Political analysts say this dispute reflects wider intra-party tensions over zoning and equity nationwide. For Lamba stakeholders, however, the demand is a fundamental call for inclusive democracy, not exclusion of any district or group.

Do you think rotating the Wase Federal Constituency seat after twenty years will improve representation across all Lamba districts?

Yes, sharing that seat now could spark fresh energy and fair input from all Lamba districts.

I agree that rotation seems fair, but I'm unsure it guarantees better representation for each district.

It seems unusual that one district has held this seat for nearly two decades without broader rotation or fresh leadership challenges.

No be say dynastic control automatically means lack of quality representation in Wase? Maybe consistency has its own benefits too.

Perhaps all APC stakeholders should propose a clear timeline and transparent criteria for rotating the seat, ensuring fair representation next election.
