CBC Global Civil and Building Construction Nigeria Ltd has adjusted its concrete pavement mix on the Shagamu-Iperu Road to comply with directives from the Federal Ministry of Works. The change follows an inspection by the Works Minister, who paused pavement works in June and called for a review of the mix design. Work is progressing steadily with two paving machines operating simultaneously. CBC Global has also raised median crash barriers and is reviewing streetlight installations between Shagamu and the Area Command axis. Despite weather-related delays, more than 45% of the section from Ijebu-Ode to Km 13 at Ikene Junction is now complete. The contractor pledges to uphold high quality and deliver a smooth ride for road users.

It's interesting that CBC Global had to adjust its formula only after ministerial inspection and directive.

Changing the mix mid-project won't necessarily guarantee better quality unless they also improve overall project oversight.
