Ibadan Indigenes Slam Fayose Over Olubadan Remarks

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has condemned former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose for dragging the Olubadan of Ibadanland into his political battles. They described his recent comments about Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as “highly provocative and unreasonable.” CCII recalled its earlier warning against mixing the revered monarch with partisan fights. The council warned that such remarks could inflame tension and cast a wrong impression on the Olubadan institution. The CCII President-General expressed disappointment over Fayose’s claim on television that the current Olubadan supports him in his dispute with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The council urged Fayose to keep the monarch out of party politics.
