Maiduguri Woman Celebrates Adopted Daughter’s Nursery School Graduation Six Years After Insurgency Orphaned Her
A Maiduguri woman has celebrated her adopted daughter’s graduation from nursery school, six years after taking her in following a devastating insurgency attack. The girl lost her father in a terrorist attack before she was born. Her mother survived the attack but died during childbirth, leaving the baby in an orphanage. The woman, who had an 11-month-old child at the time, said she could not stop thinking about the baby. She brought her home and breastfed both children together. She now says she is proud to watch her daughter begin her educational journey.
