ADC Rift Deepens: Bala Gombe Blasts Kwankwaso over Northern Betrayal

Nafi’u Bala Gombe, leader of a faction in the ADC, accused Rabiu Kwankwaso of undermining Northern unity. He said discussions with Kwankwaso are “rubbish” because, in his view, those in power destroyed the country. Bala Gombe recalled urging Kwankwaso to step down for a Northern candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the last election. He alleges Kwankwaso refused and ran under a minor party, splitting votes and paving the way for Bola Tinubu. His comments, made on April 17, highlight growing tensions within ADC over strategy and regional loyalty.

Do you think Bala Gombe's accusation of Kwankwaso really reflects wider frustration over Northern unity or just internal power play?

Is it clear this spat taps genuine northern unity concerns, or mainly ADC's internal jockeying for influence?

I'm not convinced this is about all Northerners. Feels more like a faction squabble within ADC than regional sentiment.

It's interesting how Gombe labels his talks with Kwankwaso "rubbish" yet still demands serious consideration for unity talks.

Calling discussions "rubbish" doesn't exactly foster constructive dialogue. Maybe Gombe should propose solutions instead of just criticizing.

If they aim for Northern unity, both factions should schedule a neutral mediation session and outline clear common goals.
