Court Order Ignored: EFCC Leaves Mrs Godwin-Isaac Without Water, Power and Gas
Since 29 June, Mrs Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac has been confined to her home at Plot 4022, Guzape, without water, electricity or cooking gas. EFCC operatives remain on site over two weeks after the Federal High Court ordered a return to pre-dispute conditions. EFCC itself defined status quo ante bellum as the state of affairs before hostilities. Yet Mrs Godwin-Isaac still lacks basic utilities, cannot cook or eat properly, and faces serious health and safety risks. Ownership of the property should be decided by the court, not by depriving a citizen of essentials. Forfeiture proceedings must preserve property, not punish residents. The law demands full restoration of pre-dispute conditions. She calls on the IGP, Attorney-General, NHRC, NBA, civil society and all Nigerians of conscience to ensure EFCC obeys the court and restores her water, electricity and gas immediately.
