Nigerian Embassies in US to Handle Visa Submissions After OIS Contract Ends

Sarah, a tech consultant in Houston, planned her winter trip to Lagos using the Online Integrated Solution portal. She was surprised to learn that OIS Services will no longer process her documents. The Nigeria Immigration Service announced it has terminated its partnership with the private vendor that managed visa collection centers in America. From now on, embassies and consulates will collect and forward all passport applications directly. A public notice signed by DCI Akinsola Akinlabi states the contract with OIS is disengaged effective immediately. Applicants should contact their nearest Nigerian embassy for new submission guidelines.

Has anyone experienced delays after OIS stopped processing visa docs, now handled by embassies in the US?

Which US embassy did you submit to? Wondering if delays vary by location now OIS stepped back.

It seems odd that the Nigerian Immigration Service would end a partnership without a clear transition plan for applicants.

I'm not convinced embassy processing will be smoother than OIS; bureaucratic backlog could still block timely visa submissions.

Consider scheduling your visa interview early at the nearest embassy and preparing all documents in advance to avoid last minute rush.
