Ghanaian TikToker Arrested for Threatening President Mahama

A TikToker known as Mahama Aminat (Akosua Serwaa Minat) was taken into custody after posting videos on TikTok that insulted President John Dramani Mahama and threatened harm against him and his wife. According to the Ghana Police Service, the Inspector General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), together with the National Operations Department’s Surveillance Unit, arrested the suspect on 20 May 2026 in Sekyere Zongo, Ashanti Region. She remains in police custody and will be brought before court to face charges.
