Richard Mofe-Damijo Calls on Men to End Gender-Based Violence

Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo spoke at an event in Abuja about the urgency of tackling gender-based violence in Nigeria. He stressed that respect and dignity must replace objectification and aggression. He shared how 80 percent of his film crew were women and urged organisations, including government, to put women in leadership positions. “Treat women like your daughter or wife—with respect,” he said, adding that correction should never involve violence. RMD also called on men to join the fight for women’s rights. He encouraged everyone to lend their voices to organisations working against gender-based violence and challenge institutional barriers.
