Ogun Police Crack Down on Fake Bank Transfer Scam, Arrest 23-Year-Old Suspect
Men of the Ogun State Police Command arrested a 23-year-old man on May 17 for orchestrating a series of fake bank transfer scams around the Agbado axis. The suspect allegedly used a counterfeit transfer alert to defraud a food vendor of N2,600 at Owolanwa Junction. Preliminary investigations revealed he confessed to carrying out similar frauds over time, with total proceeds estimated at around N10 million. The Commissioner praised the vigilance and professionalism of operatives in the Agbado Division for their swift response. Residents are urged to stay alert and report any suspicious transactions or criminal activity through the State Command’s emergency lines.
