Rivers PCRC Visits NDLEA Bonny, Calls for Community Backing in Drug War

Rivers PCRC Visits NDLEA Bonny, Calls for Community Backing in Drug War

The Police Community Relations Committee in Rivers State paid a condolence visit to the NDLEA Bonny Area Command after Chief Narcotics Agent Sadiq Bako Mujahid was killed during a raid on the ‘G-unit Ama Hausa’ illicit drug hub. During the visit, the PCRC chairman condemned the attack and urged the Bonny traditional council, local government authorities and residents to join forces with the agency in the fight against hard drugs. He stressed that reducing drug intake would help curb violent crimes in the community. The PCRC team also met with Bonny Divisional officers to discuss ongoing sensitisation efforts and reinforce community participation in anti-drug campaigns. They appealed for local leadership to secure the former drug enclave and prevent dealers from regrouping.
