Mr P’s No-Show Delays Jude Okoye’s N1.3bn Fraud Trial
The resumed trial of Jude Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, was stalled today at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi. The defence intended to cross-examine Peter Okoye (Mr P), but the witness failed to appear. Prosecutors allege Jude and his firm defrauded a client of N1.3 billion and $1 million. Both have pleaded not guilty to the seven-count charge filed by the EFCC. Court records show the prosecutor claimed Peter missed his flight from Abuja, but the defence insists Mr P was already in Lagos yesterday. Counsel for the defence challenged the excuse and urged the court to proceed. Justice Owoeye adjourned the case until September 21, 2026, for further hearing.
