Ijegun Community Leader Applauds CP Tijani’s Security Drive, Urges Residents to Back Anti-Cult Effort
Eze Chika Nwokedi, the Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo, commended Lagos CP Fatai Tijani for his proactive community engagement and police collaboration following a stakeholders’ meeting led by the Area M Commander. He called on residents in Idimu, Ikotun, Igando and Egbeda to support security agencies with timely and credible information instead of resorting to self-help. He stressed that trust and cooperation between civilians and police are essential to tackling cult-related violence. CP Tijani highlighted his commitment to community-based policing since taking office, noting challenges such as manpower shortages and logistical constraints. He urged parents and local leaders to guide youths away from crime as the command intensifies patrols and operations against criminal hideouts.
