PSG Humiliate Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to Complete 8-2 Aggregate Rout — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Paris Saint-Germain avenged their Club World Cup final defeat with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The result sealed an 8-2 aggregate win and booked PSG’s place in the Champions League quarter-finals. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring inside six minutes after a defensive error. Bradley Barcola then capitalised on another mistake to double the lead before half-time. After the break, Senny Mayulu curled home a decisive third goal. Chelsea threatened on a few occasions, but PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov kept them at bay. The loss marks Chelsea’s third straight defeat in all competitions and saw Trevoh Chalobah leave with a serious injury late on. PSG now turn their focus to a bid for back-to-back European crowns.

Chelsea's struggles in midfield looked glaring against PSG's ruthless attack, and you have to wonder if they were simply outclassed tactically at Stamford Bridge.

Not sure this rout says as much about PSG's quality as it does about Chelsea fielding an underprepared side for such a high-stakes tie.

If Chelsea want to bounce back, they need a midfield shake-up and more consistent pressing to prevent another 3-0 home drubbing.
