Drake Fans Arm Themselves with Flamethrowers and Axes to Reveal ‘Iceman’ Release Date

Drake Fans Arm Themselves with Flamethrowers and Axes to Reveal ‘Iceman’ Release Date — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Drake’s latest album rollout for Iceman has reached a dramatic peak. In downtown Toronto, he froze his release date inside a giant ice structure. Fans arrived with axes, sledgehammers, and even flamethrowers to chip away at the block. The stunt follows weeks of theatrical teases. Earlier this month, Drake iced over courtside seats at Scotiabank Arena and staged a permitted pyrotechnic shoot that startled North York residents. Each event has built anticipation for his first solo album since 2023. Iceman, due later this year via OVO Sound and Republic Records, features production from Tay Keith and Oz. Until the ice melts, the exact release date remains on ice.

Are you leaning toward seeing this as a clever marketing stunt or more of an artistic statement?

It seems like the flamethrower and axe spectacle is more about viral buzz than celebrating the music itself.

I no dey see why people go risk injury just to smash ice; na overkill for album hype.

If you're eager for new music, streaming previews online or following official channels is far safer and more accessible than extreme stunts.
