Nasarawa Lawmakers Omadefu and Kudu Quit APC for SDP over Primary Grievances

Nasarawa Lawmakers Omadefu and Kudu Quit APC for SDP over Primary Grievances

Two members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mohammed Omadefu (Keana) and Jacob Kudu (Nasarawa Eggon East), have left the All Progressives Congress for the Social Democratic Party. Speaker Dr Danladi Jatau read their resignation letters in Lafia, noting they felt ill-treated during the recent APC primaries. In related business, the assembly passed a second reading of a bill to amend the Nasarawa State Education Trust Fund Law, 2025. Sponsor Abel Bala highlighted that the changes would boost revenue, create jobs, and improve education standards. Deputy Speaker Mohammed Oyanki urged the house to resolve the trust fund’s leadership crisis through collaboration with the executive. The bill was committed to the House Committee on Education, with a report due by July 28.
