President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Romuald Wadagni on his decisive win in Benin’s April 12 presidential election. The former finance minister secured a strong majority, marking a major political transition in the country. Tinubu highlighted the historical, economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and Benin. He expressed optimism that the new administration would deepen collaboration on trade, border security, infrastructure and regional stability. He commended the peaceful conduct of the election as a sign of growing democracy in West Africa.
