Presidency Exposes Impostor Behind Fake Advisory Council
The Office of the Chief of Staff has confirmed that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew never held any position in a Presidential Economic Advisory Council. Investigations revealed he forged appointment letters and seals to claim leadership of a nonexistent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. He went as far as requesting a note verbale from the Foreign Affairs Ministry to secure visas for his staff. This prompted the Chief of Staff to direct the DSS and police to probe the activities of “fraudsters and impostors.” Police arrested Adeyemi in Abuja and seized forged documents and evidence linking him to 34 bank accounts set up under fake agencies. No government funds were transferred. Adeyemi previously claimed a UN youth organisation role in 2016, only for the UN to deny the body’s existence. The government advises Nigerians to await the court’s judgment before commenting further.
