Governor Otti Orders Intervention in Abia Councillor’s Three-Month Salary Dispute

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has directed the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Uwaoma Ukandu, to work with Senior Advocate of Nigeria Monday Ubani on a dispute in Ikwuano Local Government. The issue involves allegations that LGA Chairman Anthony Nwaubani withheld a councillor’s salary since December 2025 and seized a solar-powered street light intended for Oboro Ward 2. Responding to journalists at the Government House in Umuahia, Governor Otti said he is aware of the matter and expects a swift, amicable resolution.
