Lagos Government Disburses N3.1bn to 300 Property Owners for Road Upgrades
Over 300 property owners in Lagos received a total of N3.1bn in compensation for land acquired for state road projects. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented the cheques at Adeyemi Bero auditorium in Alausa Secretariat and highlighted the administration’s commitment to fairness and transparency under the Land Use Act. He noted that the process of verifying beneficiaries and determining payment amounts was open and just, stressing that compensation is a rightful entitlement — not charity — for those whose properties were acquired in the public interest. The governor added that the lands will support roads, schools and other public infrastructure while acknowledging the sacrifices of affected families and assuring they will be treated with dignity.
