FBI Hunts Nigerian Woman Who Fled Before Serving 8-Year Romance Scam Sentence

FBI Hunts Nigerian Woman Who Fled Before Serving 8-Year Romance Scam Sentence

US authorities have launched a manhunt for Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, a 45-year-old Nigerian permanent resident in Atlanta. She failed to surrender to begin an eight-year prison term for her role in a romance fraud that duped victims of over $850,000. Court documents show Hall pleaded guilty in January 2026 to mail and wire fraud and money laundering. She was on bond until March 25 but vanished after her monitoring device stopped transmitting at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport. Investigators believe she may have escaped via Washington’s Dulles Airport. Hall and her co-conspirator posed as generals, entrepreneurs and philanthropists on social media to lure victims into fake relationships and solicit funds. If caught, she faces up to 10 extra years behind bars and fines. The FBI urges anyone with information to come forward.
