Okoli-Akirika Demands Prompt Federal High Court Judgment on ADC Leadership Dispute
Mr John Okoli-Akirika has urged the Federal High Court in Awka to deliver its ruling on the African Democratic Congress leadership case without delay. He reminded the presiding judge of sections 36(1) and 287(2) of the Nigerian Constitution, which guarantee a fair hearing within a reasonable time and enforceability of Court of Appeal judgments. The trial judge reserved judgment on April 10, 2026, in a dispute that carries significant electoral implications. Mr Okoli-Akirika stressed that the matter is time-sensitive and should be resolved by April 15 to align with INEC’s election timetable. He called on the court to uphold its duty to the nation by delivering the reserved ruling urgently and respecting constitutional timelines.
