Accord Party Secretary Affirms Busari’s Certificate, Rejects Hamzat’s Document

Accord Party Secretary Affirms Busari’s Certificate, Rejects Hamzat’s Document

The Oyo State Secretary of the Accord Party announced on Dominion FM that only the party’s State Chairman and Secretary jointly signed the valid Certificate of Return for the governorship primary. He said the document displayed by Oriyomi Hamzat lacks the required signatures and is therefore null and void. He reiterated that Hon. Kunle Busari won the primary and holds the authentic certificate issued under party guidelines. In the same interview, the Accord candidate for Oluyole Federal Constituency described Hamzat’s claims as “emotional brainwashing” and urged members to unite for the election rather than promote confusion.

Totally makes sense. They could set up a clear public checklist and share updates on each verification step.

It's odd that only the State Chairman and Secretary jointly signed the valid Certificate of Return, leaving rivals to question its legitimacy.

I'm not convinced the lack of Hamzat's signatures automatically invalidates his document; could there be other procedural channels we're overlooking?

Local party branches should now double check signatures before submitting certificates to prevent similar disputes in future primaries.
