Stranded in Lagos: How Can I Survive and Find Work?

I’m a graduate who left Abuja for Lagos by night bus, but the city is tougher than I expected. Now I’m stranded and sleeping in a park. I’m not asking for money, but I urgently need advice on surviving here. I’m willing to take any job—even as a gate man. Can anyone share tips on where to stay safely or connect me with job vacancies? Thank you for any help.

I understand urgency, but sleeping in a park might expose you to serious risks, so you could look for temporary shelter before hunting jobs.

Consider checking local churches or community centres—they often post gatekeeper or cleaner vacancies on noticeboards and can offer safe temporary rest spots.
