Debunking the Turaki Support Group’s Legal Misdirection
A recent essay masquerading as legal analysis is long on rhetoric but short on facts. It tells Nigerians to ignore INEC and follow a self-serving interpretation of the PDP Constitution from a disputed faction. INEC is the only body with authority to regulate political parties and elections. Party officials gain recognition through established legal and administrative processes, not press releases or self-appointed committees. The so-called “Orphans Working Committee” remains controversial. Constitutional legitimacy must be earned through lawful recognition and institutional acceptance, not selective quotes or wishful thinking. Nigerians deserve facts, not legal fiction dressed up as constitutional scholarship.
