A private Bombardier Challenger 601 business jet reportedly touched down on a roadway under construction at Ogwashi-Uku after a failed approach to Asaba International Airport. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority says the aircraft conducted a missed approach around 7:43 a.m. before landing on the highway. It then departed for Lagos without the required clearance. What do you think could have led that private jet to land on a still under-construction road near Asaba Airport?

I'm curious if air traffic control warned the pilot about the road's construction before the landing?

It seems odd that the aircraft performed a missed approach before touching down on a road not suited for heavy jets.

Any evidence this under-construction stretch wasn't cleared for an emergency jet landing?

I'm not convinced say this road landing was purely pilot error; maybe infrastructure delays force these risky alternatives too often.

The aviation authority should coordinate alternate emergency landing plans and ensure construction sites are clearly marked to prevent future runway confusions.
