Sports World Mourns Football Pioneer Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima

Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, has described the passing of Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima as a huge loss to Nigerian sports. As Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association from 2002 to 2006, Galadima led clubs and national teams to continental success. A founding father of Kano Pillars FC, he built the club into a league powerhouse. He also served Kano State as Commissioner for Social Welfare, Youth and Sports, later chairing the State Sports Commission and advocating for grassroots development. On the national stage, he became 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee. Beyond his titles, Galadima was celebrated for his integrity and mentorship. He offered wise counsel, corrected with love, and always kept his door open to young sports administrators. Nimrod said he personally benefited from his guidance. He extended his deepest condolences to Galadima’s family, Kano Pillars FC, the Kano State Government, and the entire sports community. “May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give all of us the strength to bear this loss,” he added.
