Lagos to Close Baale Animashaun Road for Eight Weeks – Key Diversion Routes Revealed

Lagos to Close Baale Animashaun Road for Eight Weeks – Key Diversion Routes Revealed

The Lagos State Government will close Baale Animashaun Road in Ifako-Ijaiye from June 15 for an eight-week drainage reconstruction project. A new culvert will channel stormwater from Adfarm Estate, Adson Street and nearby communities beneath the road to improve flood control. Motorists from the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway can divert via Ijaiye Bus Stop Junction through Agbado-Ijaiye Road, use Jendor Junction via Alhaji Ganiyu Road, or follow the Ajegunle-Ilo Bus Stop route through Adetiba, Fagbeyiro Abayomi and Fola Azeez Streets. Drivers are urged to obey traffic signs and follow officials’ directions to minimise delays. This intervention is part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and stormwater management across Lagos.

Closing Baale Animashaun Road for drainage work may backfire if nearby streets can't handle redirected traffic loads.

Drivers should plan alternative routes in advance and leave home earlier to avoid being stuck on detour roads.
