Edo Government Bulldozes Suspected Kidnap Hideout in Esan South East
The Edo State Government has demolished a building in Ubiaja, Esan South East LGA. Authorities allege it was used by kidnappers and for drug-related activities. Noah Idemudia, Chairman of the Edo State Special Security Squad, said the property was linked to a suspected kidnap kingpin. He explained that the hideout came to light during investigations into a recent abduction in Irrua, which led to the arrest of nine suspects. Preliminary findings show the building served as a base for criminal operations. The state government under Governor Monday Okpebholo warns those involved in crime to desist or face prosecution. Landlords are urged to vet tenants carefully to prevent their properties becoming safe havens for criminals.
