Brentford Humiliate West Ham 3–0 as Hammers Slip Closer to Relegation

Brentford strengthened their bid for European football with a commanding 3–0 victory over West Ham United. The hosts opened the scoring in the 15th minute when defender Konstantinos Mavropanos turned the ball into his own net. West Ham threatened on occasion and struck the woodwork more than once, but could not find a way back. Early in the second half, Igor Thiago slotted home a penalty after a reckless challenge inside the box. Mikkel Damsgaard wrapped up the win in the 82nd minute with a fine finish. The win lifts Brentford to sixth, while West Ham remain only two points above the drop zone. Brentford now face Manchester City away, and West Ham host Arsenal in their next test.

It wasn't all doom; West Ham hitting the woodwork shows they created chances even against a strong Brentford side.

West Ham should focus on tightening their defence and converting set pieces if they hope to climb out of the drop zone.
