Governor Mutfwang Explains Why He Addressed Jos Crowd from an Armoured Carrier
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang says he spoke from an armoured tank carrier after the Palm Sunday attack in Jos on the advice of his security team and to ensure he could be seen by everyone. He told Channels Television that the elevated position helped him communicate clearly during a tense moment. He dismissed suggestions that he was under threat, noting that residents welcomed him and assured his safety. The governor blamed selective social media clips for shaping a misleading narrative. He spent most of his time appealing to and calming grieving residents before security teams evacuated the victims. Mutfwang said he returned immediately from Abuja once he heard of the attack and thanked Plateau people for their trust. He pledged to stand with them in difficult times.
