Driver of Emir’s Wife Pleads Guilty to N60m Jewellery Theft

Driver of Emir’s Wife Pleads Guilty to N60m Jewellery Theft

A Kano Magistrate’s Court in Nomansland, Fagge LGA, has remanded three suspects in connection with the theft of jewellery, cash and a mobile phone belonging to the Emir of Kano’s wife. Court documents show that Sulaiman Yakubu Kulkude, the Emir’s wife’s driver, entered her room unlawfully and stole items valued at about N60 million. He was arraigned alongside Idris Musa and Abdullahi Usaini on charges of conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property. Sulaiman pleaded guilty to all counts, while the other two defendants denied the charges. Their lawyer filed a bail application, and the presiding magistrate granted bail on strict conditions, including a N10 million bond and a Grade Level 15 civil servant as surety. The case is adjourned until April 14 for further hearing once bail conditions are met.
